Totnes Heritage Trust can now announce that the third Totnes Heritage

Festival will be held this year on Saturday 19 September in partnership

with Totnes Town Council. The programme is starting to take shape with

what promises to be another successful day for the town.

English Heritage has confirmed that once again Totnes Castle will be

free entry all day for anyone with a TQ9 postcode. There’ll be more

guided walks with Totnes Tour Guide Kathy Alexander and workshops at

the Totnes Image Bank where you can meet the people who care for the

town’s wonderful archive of local historic photographs and films.

The newly restored St Mary’s Church will be welcoming festival goers for

some special events and, in addition to other venues, there’ll be a host

of original events laid on at all the other historic buildings in the town:

The Museum, The Guildhall, The Mansion and Totnes Cinema to name

but a few.

This year, too, for the first time, we will be welcoming some very special

Early Music musicians to The Guildhall which will be the perfect venue to

showcase the music that would have been enjoyed by the affluent

Totnes merchants back in the days when the town was one of the richest

in Devon.

The Heritage Trust will be releasing more about the festival lineup

throughout the Spring.
